We recently dropped by Black Book Gallery to discuss with “resident” artist Max Kauffman his upcoming show “Aether Ceremony.” A journey into a world of physical and metaphysical elements, the show consists of the artist’s well-known watercolor paintings as well as mixed media pieces.
Of note, the artist utilizes multiple surfaces including found objects like rusted and smashed spray cans found on trips to local train yards. Kauffmann uses these lifeless vessels to portray images of architecture combined with natural elements including leaves and birds. The artist uses these images to create a mystical world of inter-dimensional intrigue.
Come see Max Kauffmann’s latest work “Aether Ceremony” at Black Book Gallery March 15th!
