1/1 recently got the chance to attend the 2nd annual Robert & Judi Newman Awards for excellence in classical and traditional design at the Brown Palace in downtown Denver. In support of the University of Colorado Denver College of Architecture and Planning Classical Architecture Scholarship Fund and the Denver-Ace Mentor Program Scholarship Fund, the juried awards ceremony and fundraiser attracted attendees from across the country for a classy and fun evening. Awards for architecture, commercial architecture, interior design, artisanship, landscape architecture, and history & journalism were presented by the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art – Rocky Mountain Chapter, along with several student awards. Denver-based philanthropist, entrepreneur, and arts enthusiast–and recent intervieweeFrederic C. Hamilton was also presented with The Clinton Family Fund Medal for entrepreneurship and contribution to the arts.
