“Forever” by Jarred De Palo

Local artist (and 1/1 Magazine founder) Jarred De Palo recently had his first exhibition in the main gallery at NEXT Gallery. Comprised of fifteen mixed media works and an installation piece, “Business As Usual” is the culmination of a year’s worth of art-making and planning. De Palo–a graffiti artist at heart–utilizes collage, intricate hand-cut paper and vinyl, spray painting, and other techniques to “bring the streets into a gallery setting.” A Denver transplant by way of Brooklyn and Maui, Jarred’s work is intimately related to his travels and life experiences. Big and bold, with a nod to the past, but always looking towards the future, “Business As Usual” is Jarred’s most concentrated effort to-date–consider this all a sign of things to come. Photos are from opening reception Oct. 17.
